The April release of Cohesion Mobile is now available for free download from mobile.cohesion.biz. The new version has the following improvements:

Improved support for Android devices
Better handling of lost network coverage and reconnection to SAP
Support for mapping of GPS activity by mobile users
GPS location updates after each screen update
User specific menu definitions

Existing customers can upgrade their systems by downloading the transport and importing with the “overwrite originals” flag. When customizing Cohesion Mobile for your system, we recommend to link your custom screens in the “Z” customer namespace. Cohesion Announces Cisco Partnership – Cius to be Released in March

Cohesion has been working with the world’s leading network company, Cisco, to deliver mobile SAP transactions on the Cius tablet device. In January, Cohesion became a registered partner with Cisco. The Cius is a mobile tablet scheduled for launch in March 2011. Users of the Cius will be able to access their SAP system using Cohesion’s mobile solution. The combination will allow users to complete tasks in SAP including:

Approval of purchase orders
Calling customers and vendors directly from SAP master data
Creating sales orders based on GPS location
Viewing entries in SAP accounting
Viewing batch reports and output in PDF

Cohesion releases new version of SAP mobile software with GPS integration

Cohesion has released a new version of our mobile software for SAP ERP systems. The new version has the following key features:

GPS integration with transactions for creating sales orders
Log visits to customers with GPS coordinates.
View notifications in quality management and service management.
Improved user interface for logon and input screens.
Color icons for easy menu navigation

The software is a free download for SAP ECC systems. Existing customers can upgrade their systems without charge. When importing the transport for an existing Cohesion installation specify the transport option “Overwrite Originals”.

Cohesion has been testing our mobile solution for SAP ERP using the Cisco Cius emulator. The tablet is due for release soon and runs the Android operating system. It has a seven inch touch screen and integrates with Cisco VOIP phone systems.

The screenshots show the Cohesion process for releasing a purchase order and checking inventory in SAP. The screens are connected in real-time to our SAP ECC system.

Cisco Cius Enterprise Tablet to be Sold by Verizon

Cisco and Verizon announced LTE support for the mobile Cius tablet. This enterprise tablet is based on the Android operating system and is integrated with desktop IP phones from Cisco. Cohesion intends to support the Cius with our Cohesion Mobile software for SAP. The Cohesion software already supports Android devices and has been tested using the Cius product simulator.

Cisco Cius to be supported by Cohesion Mobile for SAP

The Cius uses Google’s Android OS and is designed to run Cisco collaboration applications, including video and other forms of communication, as well as other Android applications. It has a 7-inch diagonal touchscreen and includes Wi-Fi as well as mobile broadband capability.
