"Our company purchased an add-on tool for Content Services from a company called Cohesion. They distribute a tool that was developed by a Belgian company named SoftCell. We use the SoftCell security add-on tool to manage security on documents based on their properties, such as document class. You can build a tree of rules to apply to each new document and each changed document. The document goes through the tree of rules and the security is assigned based on meeting the criteria of the rule. The software overwrites the security that is assigned by Content Services based on these rules. As the organization changes and the rules change too, security can be re-run to re-apply the new security rules.
We have used the product for 5 months and it works really well. The Security add-on tool made a world of difference on our FileNET implementation. Without, we were not sure how we were going to be able to control security by document class."
